My name is Adrienne South
I have spent a decade working in various levels of government, communications and broadcast media and am currently a freelance journalist living in Edmonton, Alberta.
I'm originally from Kitchener, Ontario. Before pursuing a career in media I worked in various roles with the City of Kitchener working with children and youth at recreation facilities, day camps and teaching aquatics and youth leadership training and development.
My first on-air appearances were on Rogers TV in Kitchener and Stratford hosting local news segments. I graduated from Conestoga College with a degree in Journalism-Broadcasting and went on to be the first female to graduate from the Sports Journalism post-graduate program at Loyalist College, before obtaining a post-graduate certificate in Event Management.
Throughout my career I have covered various Ontario Hockey League Teams, hosted Inter-County Baseball on Rogers TV Toronto, and worked and volunteered in promotions for several sports teams and leagues – including the AHL Toronto Marlies, Belleville Bulls, Waterloo Siskins and upon moving to Edmonton I spent several years working as the In-Game Host for the Edmonton Propsects. I have also covered several international sports championships for SportsCanada.TV.
After more than two years as a Video Journalist with Global News in New Brunswick, I went on to spend a year at CTV London in 2019 working as a weekend anchor, producer and weather specialist before moving back to Edmonton.
During my previous time in Edmonton, I also worked at CTV Edmonton as a news writer and then as an airborne traffic reporter on 630 CHED and iNews 880 via Canadian Traffic Network.
After a three year hiatus to work in communications and public relations I am back to pursuing my dream as a journalist and sports broadcaster. This year, during the summer of 2022 I most recently worked as the In-Game Host for the Edmonton Riverhawks during their inaugural season.
